Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
I am a medical student at Washington University in Saint Louis SOM and I want to volunteer for CHOICES but I don't have time to be a discussion facilitator. Can I still volunteer?
YES! CHOICES welcomes any medical students who would like to volunteer and help our program, even if you don't have time to be a DF. WUSM medical students interested in volunteering for CHOICES should contact the current CHOICES leadership (Sydney and Oliver) by sending a message on the CHOICES program home screen on the Washington University SOM Student Activities website.

I am a medical student at another medical school besides Washington University in Saint Louis and I would like to start a CHOICES program at my medical school. What should I do?
First, thank you so much for your interest in the CHOICES program! Please contact the National Director, Dr. Gabriel Tissian, for next steps by sending an e-mail with your full name, year in medical school and contact info to info@CHOICESforyouthindetention.org

I am a first or second yer medical student at WUSM who would like to volunteer for CHOICES but I have a commitment on Fridays from 5 to 6 pm. Can I still volunteer?
Currently CHOICES only schedules City JDC visits on Fridays from 5 to 6 pm. If you have a standing commitment during that time, you may want to hold off on joining CHOICES until next year. Alternatively, you could join the program and go through training but hold off on City JDC visits until your schedule changes, if it is a temporary scheduling conflict. Unfortunately, we cannot schedule alternative City JDC visit times to accommodate conflicts at this time.
